"LIVE FREE OR DIE"
Da'an (Leni Parker) is held for ransom by a group of renegade soldiers who claim the Taelons sacrificed their unit during radical bioengineering experiments.
Fans' comments - Major spoiler to follow
----------------
Yet another mondo cool episode! Makes you really wonder about what OTHER
kinds of experiments the Taelons have been performing on us! It was
really great seeing Nigel Bennett of "Forever Knight" and Maurice Dean
Wint of "Tek War" & "Psi Factor" work together! I liked the bit where
Wint's character smashes his hand all out of shape and then it instantly
returns to normal.
-------------------
That was really something, and that living moving thing inside his stomach!
-------------------
Gee now I am really wondering about those Taelons....
-------------------
And the part where Da'an is willing himself to
die and we see 'his' life force draining away! Kind of wonder what the
deal was with Da'an holding hands with Wint's character. Were they
making some sort of transference?
-------------------
I wondered about that too, but I don't think so. With Da'an visiting him at
the hospital at the end, I think.. I don't know what to think. Da'an really
care? It was very obvious that Wint's character (what's his name?) was
concerned about Da'an.
-------------------
I think that Da'an does care but I think that Taelons as a whole have a
disdain for humanity.
-------------------
Okay... this is an interesting episode, not much of Lili, but interesting
nevertheless. Seems to fall back into sequence. (assuming "Scorpion's Dream"
was out of sequence).
-------------------
In the opening scene, when Boone and Lili arrived at the auditorium.
Right after Boone walked away from Sandoval and Lili, Lili said to Sandoval,
"Really looking forward to this, kind of like watching Taelon home movies."
Check out that expression on her face *and* the tone of her voice! Love it!
--------------------
While chauffeuring Sandoval around to questions the families, Lili asked
"Headache?" Sandoval's response was "Commander Boone is something of a
workplace democrat, I'm not!" Whoa! What do you all think of that??
*Then* Lili noticed his ear bleeding (ala Pike?) Very interesting, nice touch!
Leading up to "Sandoval's Run?" Something is up with Sandoval!
Finally, there seems to be tension between Boone and Sandoval.
--------------------
This thing about the experiment on those men, for inter-dimensional travel...
Lili travels inter-dimensionally regularly, they didn't run those experiment
on her. I am getting more and more curious about Lili's background!
--------------------
Why was Augur at Boone's office? That was very risky, not very smart!
So was Doors showing up at the warehouse *and* blowing Boone's cover!
The worst was when that guy (can't remember name) called for the Colonel
thinking that Da'an might have died or something, they all ran in, including
Doors. Now why would Doors ran in to see Da'an? Talking about blowing
everything.
---------------------
I was really expecting a Dr. Anne cut on Lisa, which I thought
looked pretty cute, but this haircut really looks good on her as well.
I didn't really like that longer length she had in "Scorpion's Dream".
This really suits her better and tends to bring out more of her facial
features.
---------------------
I tend to agree with you on this. I like Lili's hair shorter than the
length in 'Scopion's Dream'. It always seemed to be hanging in her face
there...and who wants to cover up such a pretty face?
--------------------
Personally, I wasn't too sure at first, but now I think I prefer the
short-hair look.
--------------------
I could tell some tension between Lili and Sandoval in the scene
where he orders her to look into Boone's office when he replays the
message. The look Lili gives is one of hositility, and it makes me
wonder does she not like Sandoval much? She seems to question his
authority.
--------------------
I don't think it's a matter of liking or disliking but more a matter of
trust. Lili can't trust Sandoval.
---------------------
I was almost convinced Kevin Kliner was making strides forward with
his acting. However, his speech to save Da'an from dying could have
been done with more emotion. The speech itself was well written, Kliner
sounds like he was just reciting the speech, not doing it as it was
suppose have been done by Boone, which was from his own part. It did
sound like a scripted speech and that is one of the things that annoys
me about Kliner is that you can tell he is acting the part. Whereas you
can believe Lisa is Lili and Von Flores is Sandoval, Kevin Kliner sounds
like an actor reading the lines of Boone, but he is not believable as
Boone.
--------------------
Yes!!! You never seem to lose sight of the fact that Kevin Kliner is Kevin
Kliner.
--------------------
I really think Lisa, Von and Leni are all doing great, whereas, we can do
without Kevin and Doors (can't remember the actor's name)!
---------------------
I finally got a look at Sandoval and know who
plays him, you're right, he is good-looking and he is a good actor.
--------------------
I think that it was a pretty good ep. Once again it shows how Taelons
feel about humanity and about their own kind...made me feel sorry for
the skrill again...now I wonder what they are really doing on earth......
--------------------
Lisa was great but once again they showed too little of her.
