Letter from Lisa talking about convention travel adventure Hello, We were conspired against at every turn...the traffic, the weather, the rude
and uncooperative airline employees. If only I was half the woman Lili
Marquette is. I would have skillfully and forcefully taken over the wheel of
the limo to navigate through the three-hour traffic jam on the freeway. I
would have used a few quick and deadly roundhouse kicks to blow past the rude
United Airline employee who refused to help me circumvent the endless line at
the ticket counter. And when the storm over Denver delayed our flight and
threatened to force us to miss our connection, I would have threw in the
towel, fired up the shuttle and called it a day.
But, alas, Marie was stuck with me, Lisa, as her traveling partner and not
Lili Marquette. So we ended up stuck in traffic, harassed, embarrassed and
yelled at by United employees, and consequently one day late for the big
show.
Was it worth it? You bet. We met some cool people, and pulled in a very nice
donation for the National Scoliosis Foundation. Next stop...Toronto. Hope
to meet some of you there. I'm not sure if Marie will ever again want to
travel with this cursed-karmic companion. But I will be there! Even if I
have to pack a global and erect a portal.
See ya!

Letter from Lisa talking about recent convention experiences Hello Everyone Hope you all had a happy holiday. Easter, Sofia's birthday and Daniel's
birthday all happen in the same month. Very festive time of year around here.
It was great visiting with Von at the Creation Grand Slam Convention in
Pasadena. We gave a little talk together, and signed some photos and got
caught up. In fact, we made plans to get together with Kevin Kilner while
he is here in LA.
I had a great time at the Denver convention as well. I'm sure there are
all sorts of embarrassing photos floating around out there. My one-hour
talks at these cons have taken on a life of their own, and seem to get more
goofy as time goes on. I have now taught close to a thousand people to fly
my shuttle, and this time I got the audience on stage with me so that I
would not be the only one making a fool of myself.
John Travolta spoke right after I did. We crossed paths in the darkened
back stage, but that was as close to him as I was able to get. I was a little
disappointed that there was no opportunity for him to sign my Vinny Babarino
bubble gum card.
I was also able to make another big donation to the National Scoliosis
Foundation from the sales of my autographed photos. That makes it all the
more special.
I can't wait to hear what you all have to say about the season finale of
EFC in May. It'll probably freak you out, to say the least. Let's chat
right after and vent! It will be alot of fun to hear your comments. No
news about next season for Lili. I will tell you as soon as I know
anything. Look forward to our next chat!
Bye for now

Letter from Lisa talking about Lili in season 4 of Earth: Final Conflict Hello Everyone I have so many of you to thank for your letters and emails and
messages. It has been my great pleasure to check in on this message
board and get a quick fix from the outside world. Sofia and I have
been living a very full but quiet life here, and we are having a great
time together. She likes the zoo, and the neighbour's cats, and
playing in the sand (eating sand is the most fun of all). Her favorite foods
are peas, grapes and tofu. She has 6 teeth and is probably 3 weeks
away from walking. Time sure flies.
I love hearing news from you. A long distance hello to Mulder from
Germany (cool poem!), Louise from Singapore, and Miranda from
England. Glad you found us. I have to agree with Lara and Michael
that Marie has created one of the best fan sites out there. Jerry
Carter, it's good to hear from you old timer fans. It always amazes
me how people remember me most from Days of our Lives even
though it was SO many years ago.
Okay... Earth news. Don't hold your breathe. I don't really have any
good gossip or any news at all. My future on Earth is a very big
mystery to me. I have not heard a thing from the producers about next
season. Not one word. Believe me, I'd tell you if I knew anything.
The only thing I can say is that I will definitely be in episode one.
I can't wait to hear from you after you watch the season finale. You
are going to freak! I was so shocked when I read the script. It is the
most out-there, wild, shocking plot twist. I can't say I liked it
much for Lili's sake, but it sure made for a great episode. Please let me
know what you thought. Its going to stir things up especially for
fans who like Lili...my theory is that they won't like it much, but there will
be a big reaction and a big reaction is always good.
A special hello to our club members and I want to organize a chat
after the finale. We have not done that in a while. In the meanwhile, I
look forward to meeting some of you at upcoming conventions. Linda,
please stop by my table in Denver and let me know the details of
your party. Any of you who plan on attending these events, email the
club so we can be sure to hook up.
Talk to you soon. Miss you all.

Letter from Lisa talking about her first convention experience Hello everyone,
A note to tell you how much fun I had at my first convention. I was so
lucky to have met some really cool people, and to be welcomed very warmly
by the fans. It was a privilege to have met some of our LHFC members face
to face, finally. Jane, Debra and Christina made the weekend extra special
for me. But it wasn't enough just to meet them, and hang out with them...I
put them to work! They were kind enough to sit with me at my table while I
signed autographs. Along with keeping me company and making me laugh,
helping me with my bad-hair-day (thanks for the hair spray!) ...they also
sold many of Jane's t-shirts and bags, and are making a nice donation to
the National Scoliosis Foundation! Thanks alot, girls. You were a blast!
The only part of the whole weekend that freaked me out, was the part where
they told me I would have to perform at the cabaret. I had no idea! I
certainly was not prepared. Fortunately, during the banquet I came up with
an idea, and Robert Picardo helped me out by lending me some music. For
better or for worse, I got through it, and...I guess you'll all just have
to come to my next convention to see my little act in person. Watching me
make a fool of myself might be worth the price of admission.
It will be hard to top FanCon's experience for me. I can already tell that
the fan-run conventions are really special. Very intimate and
personal. Keep checking our web site for info on my next one. I'd love to
see you there.

Letter from Lisa talking about her future involvement in Earth: Final Conflict Hello Everyone,
You have all been so cool about my maternity leave. Thank you, for understanding my priorities to be with my family right now. Sofia
thanks you, too. This first year is just
magical, as I am sure all the years are. But I am enjoying all of her "firsts" in person, and I am so lucky. Speaking of first, Sofia got her
first tooth last night!
It is strange for me, too to watch season 3 without Lili. I tune in to each new episode with no idea what is going on from week to week,
just like the rest of the audience. I think the show is looking great, and I know that it will be a wonderful year for Earth. The new staff of
writers is really hitting the mark, and Paul Gertz and David Kirchner's hands on involvement this year will make a huge difference. It's
such a drag that this is the year I need to take off...just when things are getting really good!
I love reading my message board, and hearing from people all over the world. A special hello to Yasmine in Senegal and Silke in
Germany. It's also wonderful hearing from my hometown...however Birdy, that was not me sitting in St. Justin's church in London. I used to
go to St. Pious X, and I used to sing in the choir at St. Peter's Basilica.
OK, enough chitchat...I know what you all really want to know. What's up with Lili after the upcoming episode, "In Memory." (you'll see a lot
of Lili in this episode). Eileen please don't loose any more sleep about it. I'll tell you. It doesn't look like I will be in any more episodes till
the season finale. I think that the writers had a very difficult time accommodating my maternity leave. They did a brilliant job with 'In
Memory,' but it is too difficult to fit Lili in to the existing story lines. So much is happening, and Lili has no part of the action. So, they
decided it is best to continue with the non-Lili stories, and we will see what happens for next season. If it looks like the fans want Lili
back, then it will be easier for them to start fresh in season 4 so that Lili can be involved in the main story lines from the start.
In the meantime you will have the gorgeous Renee to keep you very happy. I have not had the pleasure of working with Jayne, but we met
in the make-up trailer a few times. She is as lovely in person as she is on screen. It is a very difficult thing to come in on a show that has
been established already. I did it on Highlander, and it was tough. If you ask me, she is doing a wonderful job. I know that the cast and
crew really enjoy her, and have told me that she is fitting in really well.
A few of you, Debra and Ampris for example were surprised to see that I am no longer on the opening credits. To tell you the truth, so
was I! I guess I never thought about it, but it does make sense. I will get billing for only the episodes I am in. It would be odd otherwise.
I agree with Amy and Liz, when they said that the writers very convincingly got rid of Lili. I think that you will all be pleased with the
intelligent way they intend to handle my story. It will keep you guessing!
Quake Kinkaid, Amy, and Gaye miss Lili and Augur almost as much as I do. And by the way, McBain, that was not my baby in the holo
tube. Hololevi and Zodiac, I miss Hololili too. She is my fashion consultant. I have no idea what to wear anymore! She had such a cool
wardrobe.
April Showers, I loved your rant....great story ideas. Keep'em coming. Everyone, keep those messages coming in. You are my main
connection to the show, these days. Let the producers know your thoughts. It's great to have this board to tell me what you think about Lili,
but these wonderful notes are read by me. The producers read the newsgroup messages and they respond to their own mail to
determine stories for the future.
I look forward to my first convention this weekend. I'll let you know how it goes. Sofia is being very patient with me, but I think its time to
pay her some attention and take her to the park. Ah, the glamorous life I lead! I love it.
Until next time,

Lisa
Letter from Lisa to LHFC members Hello my friends!
These past two and a half months are like a blur to me. The incredible ups
and the worrisome downs of new motherhood have left my head spinning. One
little smile from Sofia wipes away the tough times. I wish I could have
written sooner. I can't believe it has been so long. I feel like it was
only yesterday we had our virtual shower. I seem to be living in a
time-vacuum. Daniel and I have been going through all your well-wishes and
notes, and printing them out to save in Sofia's baby book.
I start work on Earth very soon, and I am very excited to see everyone. I
am also very nervous. It will be Sofia's first plane ride. I have no idea
how it's going to be on set with her, but it has been done before, and I
will figure it out!
So far, I am in episode 1 and 2, and episode 6 (although episode 6 may
shift around). I know that you all will be much happier this season. The
new writers are a big improvement, and season 3 promises to be the best. I
would not say that if I didn't truly believe it. I only wish I were able
to participate in it more!
Marie and I will work out a time for our next chat. It would be great if
we did it after I shoot the first 2 episodes so I will have some news from
set.
When I was on Days of Our Lives, I had the opportunity to meet many fan
club members during my appearances in various cities. I really enjoyed
that. Conventions will be a good place where I can meet some of you. If
there are conventions near you or you're going to, let Marie know. I think
that will be a lot of fun if we can work it out.
Sofia is on my lap right now. The computer screen already fascinates her.
It's never too early! She is starting to squirm so I will go now. Looking
forward to our next chat!
Lisa
P.S. Marie, please say hello on our message board for me, I'll try to get
there soon.
June 19, 1999
Greetings and answers to your messages Hello Everyone,
I am writing this on March 31st, and I wish I had baby news to report to you, but she is taking her own sweet time to make her debut. A week late, and no signs of wanting to come out and join the party. Daniel thinks that she is too afraid to come out. After all, if it's true that the fetus can hear from inside the womb, then she spent the past nine months listening to Lili fight aliens, mad scientists, and evil drones. No wonder she's staying where she is.
I want to thank everyone for all the warm wishes and kind words of encouragement that you have sent to me and Daniel and the baby.
We have been so touched by your support. The "Virtual Shower" was so much fun! Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
I am going to try and answer most of your messages from the board, in this one letter. But first, let me address the issue of my return in
season 3 of Earth. I will definitely be participating in the new season. In fact, I'll be there for the first week of production. However, I have
asked that my participation be limited in the first half of the season. My producers have been so incredibly generous to me. They are all
family oriented people and respect my desire to bond with my child, so have agreed to my request. As for the second half of the season,
that remains unknown. There will be a new female character to balance out the cast, but she will not be replacing Lili. I truly hope that I will
be able to balance my new role of motherhood, with the role of Lili Marquette, and that there will still be a place for me on Earth.
OK...on to your questions. Paula and Romam want to know what it's like working with "hunky" Robert Leeshock. I'll make sure to tell him he has been elevated to
"hunk" status. He'd get a kick out of that. Robert is so unaware of his incredible charm and good looks. That's one of his most endearing
qualities. He's smart, and he laughs alot, and he's the kind of guy you can trust with your deepest secrets. A rare quality indeed. He is
also an incredible salsa dancer!
Eugene from Singapore...how very cool that your orchestra plays the Earth theme song. We get so many requests for it. I'm going to try
and convince them to sell it on-line. Maybe we can get it in the Lisa Store that Marie set up. Speaking of music, Emily...I hope you
enjoyed the Newsboys concert. I'll have to look them up at the record store.
Leeanne, from Australia...I have no plans for any movies during hiatus. I don't imagine I've missed out. Not too many roles call for huge
pregnant ladies. By the way, Elizabeth Carpenter says hello.
Michele wanted to know if there will ever be a conflict between Liam and Lili, because Liam is part alien (Hagel, remember?), I hope not.
Liam has proven every bit as dedicated to fighting the good fight as Lili is. I would hope she wouldn't hold his race against him,
especially since he saved her life many times. That would be a form of racism on Lili's part, wouldn't it? A very interesting question.
Fred is very interested in what it was like working with Elizabeth Gracen on Highlander. Truthfully, we only worked together for one day.
She is so beautiful! I was really charmed by her, and wish we had more to do together. I have not seen her new show yet, but do you all
remember Paul Johanson (her co-star on Raven) when he guest starred on Earth?
Jim seems fearful that aliens will take over religion...Earth has tried to deal with that possibility (remember Miracle?). But it is a very
touchy subject to explore. We tried to stay away from dealing with it, as it always ends up offending too many people.
Greg...I am no relation to the Three Stooges. I really thought you were joking, but I guess its true. Larry, Curly and Moe were Howards.
Although my dad kind of looks like a 6-foot 5-inch version of Moe, come to think of it.
Sara...I really do feel like one of the Three Stooges when I have to fly that shuttle. I look like an idiot, flapping my arms with nothing in front
of me. I'm so grateful that the graphics department makes it look cool in the end, because on set, it looks ridiculous. Even though it
doesn't look like it, I have a very complex method to my mad flailing. The only people, other than myself, who really know what I do are the
graphics wizards and Drew Potter, our brilliant camera operator. By the way, Drew will be directing episodes next year. Watch for him. I
really think he will be amazing.
Lewis really liked that silver dress I wore last season in "Old Flame", I do too. I wish Lili got to wear gowns more often. I just hope I'll be
able to fit into it again someday!
Larry misses Beckett...so do I! Besides the fact that my husband created her character in season one (Secret of Strandhill), I think that
Kari Matchett is a fantastic actress. She has a Canadian series of her own now, called Power Play.
Michael Hinman wrote the most important message...he commented on how amazing our website is, and I agree! Marie does such an
excellent job of bringing us all together in a friendly and informative manner. She is learning about this whole process as she goes along,
yet her work rivals any professional site out there. We are all so lucky to have her talents and friendship. My respect and gratitude to her
go beyond words.
Talk to you next time,
Debra the Yo Yo Queen...thank you for your excellent child rearing advise.
Lisa
Greetings from Lisa Howard Happy Holidays!
Thank you for stopping by my website, and for your birthday wishes and congrats on our upcoming blessed event. Haven't logon for a long time, I am going to answer some of your questions here.
Ed - re: if anyone on the street still recognize me as April from Days.
For every five times I get stopped on the street, *four* of them are from people who remember April. Very few people stop me for EFC.
Rilei - re: getting to your website.
I can't get on your site! I'll keep trying. Thanks for the invitation. I'll get there somehow!
Christian - re: what it was like to work with Adrian Paul
Adrian was the hardest working actor I have ever met. I learned a lot about what's expected of an actor in order to star in a successful series. I am putting those lessons to use on E:FC, and I am grateful to him for teaching me.
Jeremy Raines, the gospel singer - re: will bigger network pick up EFC in the future
Wow! Full time gospel singer! How fortunate you are to be able to devote all your time to what you love. E:FC will remain with the syndicated stations for it's full run.
Tristan Hearn - re: will Lili turn bad
I would strongly object to turning Lili into an evil character, even though it would be fun. (I had a blast playing evil Kayla). I've worked hard creating a character with honor and integrity. It would be unrealistic to throw it all away. BUT - that doesn't mean Lili doesn't make mistakes, and doesn't have more lessons to learn. I just want her to grow in a positive way. Not negative.
Noleat - suggestions for new HoloLili characters
I love love love the Nurse chapel idea - I am going to pitch it to the writers - we'll have to do it next year when I am not so pregnant.
Haarnoz - re: what happened to Majel and her character on EFC
Majel is the busiest woman on the planet, and acting is pretty low on her to-do list these days. Apart from producing this show, she has a new animated series. Besides, it's awfully cold in Toronto - staying in sunny California is not such a bad idea.
Stlopez - re: getting a script to Majel
Majel has her own website: http://www.roddenberry.com
Carrie, Canadian viewer - re: Redemption and Fissures
You picked my two favorite episodes this season. I, too wish all our shows were this strong. But there are lots of other people with different tastes, who like the action stories. We keep trying to strike a balance. Look for an episode call "Bliss" - it's a good Lili/Augur episode I think you'll like. Gary Cauchi - from my hometown of London, Ontario
Hi Gary. I was born in London and lived there till 1978. I went to St. Mary's Choir School downtown, and lived in Oakridge. Small world.
Magali12@infonie.fr - re: boy or girl?
The ultra sound was not conclusive, but they said it was most likely female!! I was so sure it was a boy, we have no girl names picked out. Either way, we are thrilled!!
JML - re: hello and goodbye
I really hope we can win you back. I am pushing and pushing for more character stories, like the ones you enjoyed last year. Wish me luck!
Bruce - who would fight a hundred Viridians for an autographed photo
No need to fight. A stamp is all you need. See the Tribune address on my homepage.
Judith - re: bios
You can look up my bio here on this site. Go to the "About Lisa" page.
I am from London, Ontario which isn't exactly a small city anymore.
Robert - re: various EFC questions
Hope I can answer some of your questions: Talk to you next time.
Sunday, 27-Dec-98 12:28:16
Thanks for hanging in with us. When they took us off the air in Canada last year, I was afraid we'd loose you - but glad to see you came back.
I am glad you like my new look. Don't get used to it, because I get bored and I'll probably change it next year!
The show is concentrating on the "Conflict" of the Earth: Final Conflict this year. It is necessary to do this to facilitate the 5-year arch. But I look forward to more character development. That's what I hope we start concentrating on. Lili's ultimate goal is for humanity to survive. If it means war or if it means inter-evolution, we'll have to see.
Lili doesn't think Sandoval's CVI is working, look what happened to Beckett.
Augur and Lili get on each other's nerves the way good friends do. Their friendship really developes in an upcoming episode called "Bliss".
Lisa
Hello from Lisa Howard
Hello everyone,
Well, I don't know about you, but I had a great time at our chat last Saturday. A big thank you to everyone from the list who showed up. I would love to do it again and, thanks to Marie, I can now chat from my laptop in Toronto. She has me all hooked up so I can check in from set.
O.K....big confession. I cheated. My husband Daniel did most of the typing while I read the chat script. Didn't want to create false expectations for next time when I'm fumbling on my oqwn...I mean own (see what I mean.)
I do have a big request. My TV Guide on line chat is Monday night at 6PM. Yes, that is the night of the Academy Awards. I'd love it if a bunch of you would show up and keep me company. It's only till 6:30, and then you can get back to the Oscars.
I'm so thrilled with the beautiful work Marie has done with this web page, and the fan club. I love popping by your personal pages for visits, too. And the episode reviews you all come up with are so smart, and fun! Your support and your creativity continue to amaze me. I am so thankful, and I look forward to our next adventure.
Lisa.
September 1997
Dear Campers:
Thanks for your questions. Again, this is long, so here we go:
In the new show, do you play an alien or an earthling? Do you like the new show? What are your initial thoughts?
Although it's a Roddenberry creation, it is quite unlike any of the Star Trek shows. It takes place on Earth, NOT in space, only 6 years in the future. There is only one alien species, just one. I play a marine pilot recruited to fly the alien's shuttle and assist in Interspecies Relations and Security. But I really am a double agent of sorts. My character is one of the founding members of an underground resistance movement that believe that the aliens are dangerous. They appear to be here on earth helping us. Feeding the hungry, curing diseases, creating peace on earth, helping us advance our technology. But Lili doesn't buy it.
We steer away from violence and simple action stories. We really try to deliver stories that are intelligent, suspense driven mysteries. We hope that the audience will speculate and argue the philosophical points we bring up. I look forward to your comments.
Will you do "Earth: Final Conflict" conventions?
I have every intention of doing conventions. I am proud of this show, and I look forward to meeting people and hearing in person what they think. Maybe even meet some of you campers! I'd love that.
What was Anne's religious background?
Anne was raised as a Christian, but her faith was shaken when her parents died. She turned to science to unravel the mysteries of life. But I think that after she encountered Duncan, and the world of immortality, and with the birth of her child, she is probably finding her way back to God.
How was "Lindsey" spelled in the Highlander scripts?
I cannot remember how Lindsey was spelled in the scripts. I can barely remember if Anne had an "e" or not. Spelling is not my strong point.
Where are the following Highlander scenes filmed?
"Obsession" - Anne's apartment where she lets the girlfriend stay with her
The scenes in Anne's apartment were filmed on the upper floor of a mansion in Vancouver's elite neighbourhood. Nice view!
"The Lamb" - where Anne visited Kenny and Duncan fishing
The fishing scene in The Lamb was filmed in the Watershed conservation area just about 20 min. outside of Vancouver. Any time you see a forest scene, that's where we filmed it. It was POURING rain that day. You can never see rain on screen in the daylight. The camera doesn't photograph it. But believe me, it was wet!
"Courage" - where Anne runs Duncan down on her bicycle and loses her beeper
The bicycle scene in Courage was shot literally on the side of a highway on a little grassy hill. Not very glamorous.
If the Highlander producers wanted you back in the series, would you return?
If it was a script that did Anne justice, I would love to.
In general, how do you get yourself to cry on cue?
Crying on cue...hmmmm. I'm the biggest cry-baby that ever lived, so crying has never been a challenge for me. I cry during Nike commercials. It's embarrassing.
How's your health?
I am in very good heath (knock wood). I hope you are all keeping healthy and fit as well.
Thank you again for your continued support! I hope I answered your questions. You are my online presence, I know I can count on you to make this show a hit.
Take care,
Lisa
